Motorcare Uganda has officially introduced Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) vehicles to the Ugandan market, unveiling a dedicated JMC Brand House in Kampala and launching two flagship models aimed at serving the country’s growing commercial and passenger transport sectors.

KAMPALA — Motorcare Uganda Ltd has officially launched Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) vehicles in Uganda, marking the Chinese automaker’s entry into the country through a fully integrated dealership and support centre on Jinja Road in Kampala.

The launch was held at Motorcare’s premises at Plot 95 Jinja Road, where the company unveiled the 2026 JMC Vigus double-cabin four-wheel-drive pickup and the JMC Costa passenger minibus, which will spearhead the brand’s presence in the Ugandan market.

The newly established JMC Brand House includes a showroom, certified service bay, genuine spare parts centre and a specialised customer support team, providing sales and aftersales services aimed at fleet operators, businesses and private vehicle owners.

Motorcare said the facility reflects a long-term commitment to the Ugandan market by ensuring customers have access not only to vehicles but also to professional maintenance, warranty support and genuine replacement parts.

The launch introduces JMC, an international vehicle manufacturer with more than 80 years of experience in producing commercial and passenger vehicles for markets across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe.

Speaking at the launch, company representatives highlighted Uganda’s growing demand for reliable and cost-effective mobility solutions, particularly in sectors such as transport, logistics, construction, agriculture and corporate services.

The 2026 JMC Vigus pickup has been designed to meet the needs of commercial users requiring a durable vehicle capable of operating in challenging terrain and demanding work environments.

The double-cabin four-wheel-drive model targets businesses, government institutions, development organisations and private customers seeking a versatile utility vehicle.

Motorcare also unveiled the JMC Costa, a 26-seater passenger minibus intended for urban and intercity transport operations.

The vehicle is equipped with flexible seating arrangements, climate control systems and fuel-efficient technology designed to support transport operators, schools, shuttle services and corporate fleets.

According to Motorcare, both vehicles have been engineered to suit African operating conditions and will be backed by a five-year or 200,000-kilometre warranty, whichever comes first.

The launch event featured vehicle demonstrations, test drives for media representatives, presentations on fleet financing options and details of aftersales support packages.

Motorcare officials said the company aims to strengthen Uganda’s automotive sector by providing globally recognised vehicle brands supported by local technical expertise and nationwide service infrastructure.

Motorcare Uganda is one of the country’s leading automotive distributors and currently represents several international vehicle brands, including Nissan, Ford, Hyundai, Peugeot and Citroën.

The addition of JMC expands its portfolio of commercial and passenger transport solutions available to Ugandan consumers and businesses.
